As the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) proposes to change the state’s K-8 testing system, join us as we convene national assessment and curriculum experts, educators, students, parents, and policymakers to discuss how we can advocate for deep and meaningful learning for all students.

Session will highlight:

  • Assessment research about deep learning and the practices that promote it

  • Experiences of teachers and students engaged in critical, culturally relevant teaching and learning

  • Breakout groups to discuss how we can advocate for meaningful curricula and assessments


PD credit hours are available for all IFT educators  who attend the full session.
